I will try to do the best I can to share with all of you my testimony and all the things that I want to, but I promise that it will not amount up to what I really am feeling, neither will it explain what I want you to all know, but I will try my very best. I hope that this email will be understandable and that as you read it you can feel how much love I have for the Lord, his work, my family, my mission, the Chilean people and just about everything that has happened to me in the last two years of my life.

First off Mother, you must not worry. I promise that I will be living with you all for a good time. I can´t go so long with out my mother haha. I am so so so sorry to say that the package has not come. I am not sure what has happened because so many packages have gotten here, but yours mother, never comes. I am sorry. I am so glad to once again hear from all of you. I sure do love you all. Mother, thank you so much for that wonderful list of things that you wrote to me. I sure do remember that paper that I put on the side of my closet. I can´t believe that I am on the other side of that. When I put that paper up the mission was a far away thing, and here I am after almost all of it, and I feel every single one of those things with all of my heart. I cannot express the feeling of gratitude I have towards so many, but firstly, the Lord for the opportunities, the experiences and the things that I have learned in the mission. Nothing else could have taught me or given me these experiences. I hope to make my mission a point of reference for all decisions that I make after the mission. Not to live in the past, but to use the past to make the future better. Thank you mother for your kind words. I sat and read them like a little baby (another thing I learned from my mother and the mission - to be a cry baby, haha, not the best thing but whatever). Pops, thank you as well for your words of encouragement, as you reflected on my mission as well as yours and Lacee´s. Your emails throughout two years have always lifted me up as well as to push me to go harder. I have always remembered what you told me when I was working in all my jobs, that I had to work in a way that when I left the boss missed me and missed the way that I worked. I have thought a lot about that in my mission and I hope that the Lord will be pleased with what I have done and that he will miss me as a full time missionary, but I know that he expects just that and more from me as a member missionary after the mission. So there is no rest. I will get right to work. It will not end for me when the mission ends. Oh, I will be with the young men on Sunday. I hope that I can share something with them that will excite them and touch them. Just so you know, you can offer me for any help of any kind. Whether it is in the church, service, work whatever. I am going to work as soon as I get home in whatever I can get my hands on and so offer me for whatever.

Ok, I suppose that I don´t need to tell you all to much because soon I will be able to do so face to face, though with my English how it is you might understand me better when I write haha. I just want you all to know that this last week has been great where I have been able to go work in the streets and invite many people to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized. It was a fun week where we were in the north of the mission doing divisions. I am writing in the middle of the sessions of conference, and so far I am loving it. The first session was amazing. I am so excited for more.

OK, to finish things up I don´t want to ramble too much, but I must try to explain, or at least give you all my testimony of this Gospel as well as for my mission.

There is not one single thing that a young man could possibly do that would be better than to serve a mission. I have never felt happier in my life, I have never learned more in my life, I have never experienced the Gospel in my life more than in the mission, and I know that it will be the same for any young man that comes out and does all he can. I love the Lord. He is our Savior. We as well as others can change. We can become better. The little things that we always mess up on can be changed. We can become like Him. It is possible through his Gospel. There is no quest longer than this, but neither is there one that brings more joy, as we see ourselves and others progress. I know that this is Christ's church because it is perfect. It keeps growing even with missionaries like Elder Brown serving for two years. He is perfect and works through very imperfect people to bring about his work. What a blessing we have to be a part of his church and serve in his work. There is a Prophet that leads the Lords Church. As we listen to him as well as read the scriptures our lives will be guided for good. We will be happy. The church is true. I know it. I have had the great opportunity to testify of it for two years, and I hope that I have many more opportunities to do so. I love this Gospel. I love you all.

I just want to tell you all thanks for all you have done for me to help me be out here. It has changed my life. I am so so so grateful for my mission. I will never forget it. It has been the best thing that I have ever done as well as the most humbling. I Love you all tons.

Love,
Elder Brown

See you soon!!!!!
I will show you all the pics when I get home.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12759092912866148112noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1575071509418244209.post-74513443951228140072013-10-02T08:36:00.002-07:002013-10-02T08:36:31.068-07:00September 28, 2013

Hola Familia y Amigos,

Wow, another week gone, another week less. I am so shocked, blown away and any other word that I could possibly come up with that expresses the feeling of complete surprisement and astonishment that is how I have been feeling lately. Wow... is all I got. Well, I sure love you all
though. I am so glad to hear from all of you again after another great
week. It has been a great week here in Osorno. I will fill you in later.
I probably should give you the sad news first. Sorry Mom, but that
package has yet to arrive. Packages continue to get here but that one,
no. I hope it didn´t get lost. So, I have been thinking a lot about
going back to do sports and I would love to, but I am going to have to
work so hard to get back into shape and gain some weight back. I would
really love to, but it will take a lot. Maybe you could look into UVU
track a little bit or convince them to get a football team haha.

I
am glad to hear from everyone. I got a letter from every single direct
member of the family, that was cool. As well as a few others including
Aunt Kanani which was really nice of her to take a little time to write
me. I sure do appreciate the support that I have received from so many. I
am not sure what I would be with out all the great influences that I
have from my family. I received a really funny card from Grandpa and
Grandma Brown that had that picture of me eating dirt when I was little.
Everyone here in the office got a really good laugh out of it. I sure
love those Grandparents of mine, there could not be better ones. I am so
thankful for all that they have done for me.

Alright, now for a
little bit about our week here in la Gran Mision Chile Osorno. We had a
really awesome week and we were here in Osorno all week again. First
off, last week we had interviews with Pres. like I told you, and he
talked to us about how we had to help change the culture of the office,
because for a long time before we got here the office has kind of been
known for a place where the missionaries don´t work very much and waste a
lot of time sitting there in the office so he asked us to start doing
something about it. So this last week we stayed here in Osorno and we
talked a lot with the Elders of the office. We set some goals and we
worked the whole week in our sector to try to show the other elders of
the office how it is much better to get things done well and quickly in
the office so they can go out to work. It was a great week. We did not,
however, get the opportunity to teach very much because we are not in
our area very much so we don´t have a whole lot of investigators or
people to visit, so we left with a lot of faith all this last week and
even though we did not teach much I know that the Lord blessed us. Why?
Because two days ago we were walking in the street just after knocking a
door and no one had answered when all of the sudden a women from
accross the street came running over saying "I need you I need you",
haha. We got all excited as she came over to us and started telling us
about her daughter and how she needed help with English. She said we
needed to come over to her house the next day. We were happy that at
least she wanted our help, inside we were thinking ha we are going to
teach much more than just English. We have gone over the last two days
just to teach English, but the whole family is super nice and we are
going to start teaching a little bit of the Gospel after teaching
English. We are even going today too. I know that this was a blessing
from God because we left to work even though we did not have anything
and He provided. He always does.

We had a lot of exciting events
this last week as well. Yesterday we had a big stake activity that the
zone of missionaries have been planning for the last few weeks. We had a
huge movie night in the church and we decorated the inside of the
church like a movie theater, made popcorn and invited everyone. Pres.
Rappleye even gave us permission to watch Toy Story 3!!! Never in my
life did I think Pres. was going to allow it and he did and he even came
and he liked the activity. It was a great activity and quite a few
people came - members, less actives, and investigators.

Then,
today for P-day as a zone we went to the Beach. Can you believe that in
this mission you can see volcanos, sea, mountains, snow and about
everything just here in our mission? It is the best. We headed to the
beach and did a little barbecue. It was a lot of fun and everyone
thought it was pretty cool.

Well fam, I cannot believe that this
is the second to last letter that I will write you as a missionary. I
can not wrap my head around it. I just want you all to know that I know
that this is the true church. I know it because first, I have felt it by
the Holy Ghost. I also know it because I have seen miracles, the first
one being that me being who I am and as weak as I am be able to come out
here and some how teach the Gospel in away that people understand it
and apply it. I could never do that on my own. I know it is true because
in this work I have learned so much. I have been thinking a lot about
all that I have learned here in the mission and one thing I thought
about this week is that success is not determined by outside sources or
circumstances, we create our own success by the things we think, say and
do everyday. Success is something that is processed by our actions and
has nothing to do with the results that we see with our eyes or hear
from other people. Success comes within. I hope that through out my
whole life I can apply this that I can create my success by applying the
Gospel at every moment possible.

I love you fam. Thanks for all you do.

Hola Familia y amigos,

Here we are again writing this saturday afternoon. We just got back from a baptism that some missionaries had and we decided to go. The bad part is that we missed the baptism because we had to run home to change into our mission clothes. We got there for the last hymn and prayer. Well, once again it is awesome to hear from all of you, though many trunky comments were said. I will act as if I did not hear them, haha. Don´t worry mother, the carpenter story at the end made up for all the trunkiness! It's always good to hear about what is going own over there in O town. I can´t believe the BYU Utah game is today. I can always hear all the noise and shouts from down here! I hope that everything went well in Caiden's soccer game. I am sure that you are there right now cheering him on.

OK, now for a little bit about this last week... It was probably the most un-busy that I have ever had. Why??? Because it was the 18th of September, which means a lot of parties and drunk people to celebrate the independence of Chile. It's not like the 4th of July in the states when it is just one day, this has been going on since Wednesday and hasn´t let up till today, haha. These Chileans sure like to party. Well, for all the partying and stuff it made it really difficult for us as missionaries to work. So we really could only work with set appointments and service stuff. So we cleaned churches and houses and ate a lot this last week. It was a little slow though. More so for us because we couldn´t go anywhere and we don´t have as many people that we know in our sector so we didn´t have very many set appointments.

This week we did have interviews with President. We had ours on Wednesday and they were great. The first thing that Pres. asked me when I went into his office was... Are you trunky? I said no but the Elders of the office are really trying! He just laughed and said good don´t let them get to you. We had a great interview and of course I learned a lot. I asked Pres. how we can always be doers of the word and not just sayers. He gave me some cool answers that would be really difficult to write here so I will tell you all some other time. I sure do love to be here and to learn from so many different people. It continues to change my life more and more and I sure hope that I can continue to change because I still got a lot of rough rough edges.

Ok, so I haven´t really told you all a lot about Elder Virhuez. He is from Argentina and he is great. He has about 2 transfers more in his mission. His family are all members besides his Dad. He is a great Elder and we get along just fine. We do fight a lot, as in pushing each other and stuff like that, just joking around with each other. It's like me and Caiden because he always ends up saying that his shoulder hurts or something like that haha. We have a good time together though.

Alright, I don´t want to bore you all but I have to share with you all something that I found in Preach my Gospel. Well, I have always tried to put in words the things that I have felt and feel while here in the mission and it is always impossible that it comes out right, because everyone has already said all those things a thousand times, but I have now found what explains my feelings the best in doctrine form and I love it. In PMG, page 4, it talks about the power and authority of a missionary. At the bottom it gives 7 examples of how we should feel and see this power while serving a mission and it explains what I have felt in the mission:

1. Being led by the spirit to say things right when they need to be said. I know that this has happened because some how I have been able to teach the Gospel in a language that before I could not speak and some how people have learned the truth I know that was not by me but by the spirit. What a great privilege to even be a part of such a thing.
2. Receiving guidance on where to go. Though very weak, some how the Lord has guided so many missionaries to find people who are ready for the Gospel. I feel that on a few occasions the Lord has guided me though I was not trying nor noticed that he was doing so. He is kind enough to involve me in such a great work even when I may not be worthy of so many blessings.
3. Having testimony confirmed by the spirit. My testimony has been confirmed through much study and prayer and experiences that this is God's church and he has been merciful enough to confirm the truth of my small testimony to others.
4. I have been able to take part in ordinances of salvation. There is nothing that brings more joy.
5. Being able to give priesthood blessings. I have been able to feel that the Lord's power has truly been restored to this earth while being able to use it to bless others.
6. Praying with and for the people you work with. I am not sure how many prayers I have said so far in my mission, but it has been a lot. I know God listens to our prayers. I have had great experiences kneeling in prayer in the house of someone I recently met and be able to feel the spirit testify of the truthfulness of this Gospel.
7. Be able to express your love for the Lord, your family, fellow missionaries and the people that you serve. This may be my favorite one. There are no other things that I love more than these. I feel so much love for all of them. It makes me so happy to feel this love. I am so thankful that the Lord up to this point has let me have such great experiences.

I love this Gospel with all my heart. I love the mission. I love you all so much. Thanks for all your prayers and support.
Love,
Elder Brown

1.Putting a grill in the car
2.Trying to fix something on the car
3.Mission home
4.same
5.Eating lunch with the Goodmans
6.Partying for the 18th
7.Chilean at heart

It just seems to blow me away a little more every single day. I am always so glad to hear from you all and I wanted to start my email with a couple shout outs. First, Happy B day Gramps!!!!!!! I sure do love you Grandpa and Grandma. I really have a hard time expressing myself a lot of times, but the thankfulness that I feel for you is so great, and for so many reasons. First, for the way that you, Grandpa, have lived your life. I don´t know of many others who have been such a great example to so many. Second, for all the support that you have given me since I have been out on the mission and not to mention the support you have given to so many other missionaries in our family. Third, for creating such an amazing family that reaches further than many families that I know. All that I have recently said applies to both Grandpa and Grandma Brown, I just used Grandpa more because it was his birthday. I love you both so much and I hope that you had a great B day gramps. I am glad I will be there for the next one!!!!

Second shout out is to Aunt Vicky. I got a B day card from her and I wanted to give her thanks. She has always remembered me in every special date even after being gone so long and you would think that many would forget about me, Aunt Vicky sure hasn´t. I love you Aunty haha.

Ok, now just to let you know mother, mail is now working but that package does not show... I am sorrry I will hopefully get it soon. About college, first off it makes me sick to think about a couple things. First, college in generel, haha, second how bad my grades are. WOW, I can´t believe it. I have long since repented of that, just to let you know, but it looks like I still have the price to pay for it. I am going to be working my bum off it looks like. If you are sure that it is not even worth trying to get into BYU for now I guess that I can try UVU first, but if there is a chance that I could get in I would love it. One other thing I want to ask you to look up is about night school at BYU. I heard that is a good option to get grades up. As well as a Spanish test that one can take to get a bunch of credits if you pass it. Thanks for all that you are looking up for me Mother, so that I can stay focused here. About the money, it looks like I am going to be working like a crazy man to pay for school.

Ok, this week was reallly good. We had mission leader council this week in the mission home on Thursday, but that means that pretty much all this week before that we were preparing things for that, namely numbers - lots and lots of numbers haha. Everything turned out good on the report that we made for the meeting, there were no big time problems. I got to drive President's Explorer this week and I thought that I was in a resurrected version of Dora, haha, it was pretty funny. We had divisions yesterday with the Zone leaders in La Union and that was a lot of fun. I went with Elder Amone who is a big poly guy that is going to play middle linebacker for BYU after the mission and it was super awesome. There are so many great examples to learn from hear in the mission. I sure love it.

Alright, to finish things off I just want to share something that I have learned and am still learning about here in the mission. It is something that Pres. Rappleye has taught me. He always talks about the Host and the Guest. The difference of the Host from the guest is that the Host is always productive he is always doing something and its almost always something for someone else. He is running around doing good and making things happen. A guest sits around and waits for things to be given to him. He does not do almost anything of his own will and does little good and the good that he does is usually for himself. Pres. is always trying to help us to become Hosts. I hope that I have become more of a Host in my mission because we all know that before the mission that was not the case, haha. I know that if at some moments in my mission I have been a host the good that I have done might not amount to so much. As Elder Ballard explained in one of his talks about honey bees that all they do is to only give out a 12th of a teaspoon. I hope that up to now that I have done my 12th of a teaspoon, I feel that I have tried and that there is still more that I can give to make it up to that 12th. If all that I have done even amounts up to a 12th of a teaspoon to the Lord I am so grateful what all of that has done for me. I will tell you right now it has done a lot more for me than a 12th of a teaspoon. It has blessed me so so so much. I have learned that that is how it is with the Lord. That there is no way to ever break even with him. We give a very very very little and he gives us so much more. I feel that in the last year and.... almost 2 years that I may have done what amounts to very little to the Lord, he has given me so much. I feel so overly grateful. I love you all so very much.
Love,
Elder Brown

Sorry no pics this time the camara is in the car. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12759092912866148112noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1575071509418244209.post-1004711437402462252013-09-07T20:51:00.001-07:002013-09-07T20:51:26.214-07:00September 7, 2013Oh my goodness family, I can not explain to you how tired I feel this week, haha! It has been one crazy week. I am sure I will hear from you all later today but we got on to write right now, so sorry if you have any questions I will have to answer them next week.

So, to tell you all a little bit about what has happened in this last week...... I am not sure where to start, so much has happened and I feel like I have been around the world and back, even though I haven´t even gone that far. This last week though, we went over 1000 kilometers doing intercambios and trainers trainings. It has been one full week and I am feeling it now. I will start with the beginning. We had planned on heading to Chiloe on Monday, but we ended up leaving Osorno really late so we just got to Puerto Montt and stayed the night there. Tuesday, bright and early, we headed for Chiloe and we were confronted with a few problems, such as strikes in the middle of the highway, so that we couldn´t pass and we ended up missing the trainers training in Chiloe, but we got there later that day to be able to do intercambios with the Zone leaders. Wednesday we went to a district meeting in Chiloe and then headed to Puerto Montt where we did intercambios with another set of zone leaders. Thursday we did another trainers training and then had intercambios with the other zone leaders of Puerto Montt. Wow, I was tired byThursday but it wasn´t over yet, haha, yesterday we had a trainers training in Frutillar and then intercambios with the Zone leaders in Puerto Varas. To say the least, I am finishing this week wet and tired because this week I think that it did not stop raining until today, so we were pretty wet all week, but the drops of water did not stop us from having some awesome divisions and I sure did learn from every single one of them. Life is good, the mission is the greatest and a little bit of water will not stop us from working in the work of the Lord and it will defininately not stop God from bringing forth his work.

We got back this morning just in time to eat a great pancake breakfast with the Goodmans and the office elders; it was a great time. I have not had such a great breakfast since before the mission. It was sure a good one.

Haha, thanks Mom, Dad and Britt for taking the time to write me. Everything is going great with my Comp. We are just as busy as ever. I am so glad to always hear from you all, and I was able to see the video of the boys and Caiden. All the guys in the office thought that it was pretty funny. It was pretty funny and they really are so cute. I love those little guys.

Haha, I promise to you all that I have never felt so tired in my whole life. But at the same time I have never felt better in my whole life. This work has changed my life so much and one of the greatest opportunities that I have had lately has been to be able to visit with all the new elders in the mission and share with them the love that I have for the mission. Lots of times it is so hard for me to express myself to them and help them to understand the magnitude of what they are starting now. It will change the lives of so many. They seem to have heard it a million times, but I feel that they do not comprehend it. I feel that I am just about beginning to understand a little of the magnitude that it has had in my life and in the lives of others. I am sure that there is much about it that I still don´t understand, but I so badly want these new Elders to understand at least what I have come to understand in this short time. There is no better choice that they have ever made than to come out here and serve the Lord. I just love it so much. I want to thank all those that helped me to make such a choice, and who have done so much to support me as I have been doing it. I love you all so much and thank you all for all you do for me.

Wow, another week has blown past me and I am not sure where it went, but with it took 15 elders home and brought 20 new ones. It was a crazy last week. I will inform you all more about that later. Once again it's a gusto to hear from you all again. I sure do love you all. I know I say the same every single letter but there is no other way for me to describe it. I just love every single one of you.

My new comp. is Elder Virhuez, haha, I have known for so long that it just seemed to me that you all knew. I have known for like 3 weeks that he was going to be my comp. He is an awesome guy. He is from Argentina. I like him a lot and we are going to work hard. Well, I will start with the beginning of the crazy week. Monday was normal and we prepared everything for the new guys to get here. The new elders got here on Tuesday. It was a super crazy day where we were running around all day until about 10 at night. I woke up super early that day too, and I drove down to Puerto Montt with 2 of the office elders and left them there in the airport, and took the new Latinos back up to Osorno. Then a second group headed down to Puerto Montt in the afternoon to pick up the gringos that came from the Mexico MTC. It was the first group from there. We were giving a welcome presentation to them in groups, first the Latinos in Spanish, then the gringos in English and I cannot tell you how bad I was at English! I am sure you can kind of tell by my spelling and vocab. Ha, the new Elders thought it was pretty funny that I mixed so much of my Spanish and English. This new group was so awesome, they were full of energy and ready to go to work. One of the best groups I have seen come to the mission. They are so young though. I was so suprised, an Elder got here from Timpanogos, but I didn´t know him because I had graduated before he was even in high school, but he does know Caiden. His name is Elder Burop. Wednesday we had a meeting to train the new trainers that are going to be training the new group that got here and they were all great. All of them are just such great missionaries. I feel so blessed to get to know so many of them and to learn from each one of them. Then the hardest part of all came - 15 elders were preparing to go home. The last devotional and super are always the worst for me. It makes me so sad to see such great missionaries go home. I love every single one of them so much. We said goodbye to my companions, Elder Balbuena and Stanley, which was so hard to do. As well as my good friend Elder Crosby, who I lived with for 4 months. I was so happy to see pics of him as he got home, baptizing his mother!!! It was so cool to hear that and see the pics. Then the rest of the week has been pretty normal, We have been getting to know the sector more and we had an acitivity yesterday as a ward and us missionaries sang a few songs for the festival of songs that we did. It was pretty fun. Now here I am writing my wonderful fam.

Dad, that was such a good story to hear and I think that it explains much better the principle that I was trying to share. Now days I find it hard to express myself in the way that I want for two main reasons. First because my english is so bad and second is that with lots of time in the mission elders start to be big babies and I think I am at the point that I am just a big baby. Oh, I forgot to tell you what we did for my B day. Hna Rappleye made a cake and we shared it on my B day as well as all the office elders and I ate pizza for lunch. It was a good bday in the mission, simple, and that's all one needs. I am sorry to tell you mother, that the package has not come yet, but I think it will get here. I was also glad to hear from a few friends for my birthday in some emails today - thanks great friends I love you all.

Alright fam well, I love you all so much. I thank you all for what you do. I just want to share one thing with you all before I head off. I never liked it when Elders got home and talked about how they learned how to be salesmen thanks to the mission. I always said that they were completely different things. Then Pres. Rappleye, who has been a salesmen his whole life, shared something with me that changed a little my perspective. He taught Elder Balbuena and me that sales like everyone knows it now, is not really sales. Now days people just try to put their product on you, and force you to buy it no matter what you need, want, or can afford. He said sales is first listening to the costumer, getting to know them, finding what they search for, need and want, then with all this information collected you help them out. You give them what they need. You show them how that specific product can help them, so that when they leave that store they know that you are their friend, that you helped them get what was best for their needs, and that they will be coming back. This is the same as missionary work. We must first listen to those who are not members, get to know them, their desires, needs, and problems. Then, after knowing all this, show them the one product that will solve all their needs - The Gospel. We help those who do not know the truth to realize why they need the Gospel, how it will solve any problem, need, or desire that they will ever have. There is nothing better to sell than the Gospel, that is when we are talking about real sales, not the kind of sales that I have never liked (selling football cards that have no value and will solve no ones problems). The Gospel is the solution to life. I hope that I can be a salesman of this product the rest of my life. Whether it is as a missionary, brother, son, father, friend, or examples I want to always be selling this product. The Gospel is true. Love you all.

Love,
Elder Brown

1. The ending group
2. Hna Goodman giving a cake to blow out the candles
3. B day lunch
4. Osorno Zone almost all of us and Elder Homie (the little guy in my had haha)
5. Me and my new comp.

Wow, what an awesome week. I will tell you more later. First... I love hearing from you all. Thank you so much for remembering me, even though I am sure that it takes a big effort to find time in the day to write me. I love you all so very much and thank you for all that you do for me. I am glad to hear that all is well. That is so crazy that Caiden is now a Junior and that he already started the school year. I didn't even realize that it was time for that. That blows me away. AS well, that Ryan Draper is married, ha wow, that is so crazy. It seems to me that almost all my friends are home now. I might be the last one standing, but I am going down swinging. That is so cool that Lacee is working up there in Heber keeping the team alive. As well, its always great to hear from the Peterson family and to see how big the boys are. It blows me away. Wade sounds like he is working a lot but that he is doing great. I appreciate every single one of you and I love you all so much.

Well, I was so hurried in writing you last week that I forgot to tell you some pretty big news... Elder Balbuena, me, Pres and Sister Rappleye headed down to Coyhaique, which is the second most southern zone in our mission, which also requires getting on a plane, and happened to be the only part of the mission that I did not know. Well we left Wednesday and we got back a few hours ago. Ha, try that one on for size. Who would have thought that I would fly so much in my mission. It was an awesome week there though. We went for the zone conference and we took advantage to do as many divisions as possible to get to know the missionaries and learn from them. I will tell you I learned a lot from a lot of great Elders. It was an awesome week of learning. E Balbuena and I tried to take advantage of traveling with Pres. Rappleye for a lot of hours to ask him a lot of questions and learn as much as we could from him. I tell you right now Pres. does not disappoint - he taught us so much in the last few days and hours that we were traveling together. While there in Coyhaique I had an experience that I have never had in the mission, haha, a bunch of kids threw rocks at me and Elder Hawkins while we were in divisions. It was pretty funny, luckily they only hit us with snow balls, haha. It was a good week though. I loved it so much. I learned so much and Coyhaique looks a lot like Utah, so that was really cool as well.

Before I wrap things up I will share just a few things of what I learned. Through out the time in the mission so far I have learned a lot about the importance of the spirit. Learning more about this, I have found myself always trying to verify whether I am following the spirit or not. Well, we were talking to Pres. Rappleye about this on the way to Coyhaique and he said something that really changed my way of thinking. It does not matter if we know whether we are following the spirit, it is important that we are always trying to follow him. Why do we have to know if the spirit guided us to do some thing? So we can get prideful that we know that the spirit guides us and end up losing that same spirit we were looking for? I learned that it does not matter whether we know if the spirit guided us to do something, but that we are always trying to follow impressions whether they come from the spirit or not. Go and do and don´t judge the outcomes. The spirit is so important and with out him we could do nothing, but searching for how much he guides us will do nothing. Always focusing on inviting him and following what we feel is the way to go. I hope that I can learn to focus on following the spirit more than focusing on whether he is guiding me or not. I love the Gospel, it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love the mission, there is nothing better in the world for young men and young women. There is much more to learn, much more to improve and that is what I am going to go try and do. I love you all.

I sure do love you Dad. There is no greater hero for me than my Dad. Every time I think about what kind of man I want to be and what I want to be when I grow up, hahahaha, I think about my Dad. There is nothing better than that. When ever there is an important date for some one I always have to write them a few sentences of thanks because there is no other way to show my thanks. My Pops has always been my great example. When I think of a humble servant of the Lord I think of my Dad, one who "lifts where he stands" (I will tell you more about what I learned about that phrase later in my letter.) My Dad is a great example of charity and patience as well, because having to deal with me growing up you have to have those attributes. I sure love you Dad and I am so thankful for all you have taught and continue to teach me in my life. I love you, happy birthday.

I am so glad to hear from you all. I thought for a minute that this morning when I checked and I didn´t have anything but an email from my faithful friend Rick, I thought that maybe my family had died from working so hard on the youth conference. I am so glad to hear that all went well. It sounds like it was a huge success, that the spirit was felt and that the food was good, two of my most favorite things, haha. I am so proud of my wonderful parents. I am sure it was one of the best youth conferences that those youth have ever seen.

Thanks Dad for the pics. I sure do love to see what everyone is looking like. If you have any pics of Brady´s wedding I would love to see him. I might not believe that he got married other wise. I met a kid here in the mission named Elder Palmer that just got here to the mission that swam for BYU and he said that the whole team was on top of Brady trying to get him married.

Just to clear things up: Elder Balbuena has not left me yet haha. Elder Anderson went home with a group of Elders that left a little bit before the transfer to get home to prepare for school. Elder Balbuena doesn´t leave till the 28th. Then, the next group is me and my buds in October. Mom, I am sure that my friend, the secretary of the mission, Elder Moreno, will send you more info when the time is right. Yes, you're right POPS, I can´t even imagine serving in another mission than this one. There is just too much I love about it. Dad, usually when we sleep in other places they have mattresses, but hey, a mission wouldn´t be a mission without sleeping on the floor a couple times, haha, if not all the time.

I can´t believe that tomorrow you will see Elder Anderson, and just a few days ago he was here with me. I already miss the guy and his great example that he always gave me. Tell him that I love him and remind him to give you what I gave to him for you all. As well, remind him that he can´t do anything cool without me haha he has to wait.

Well, a little about the week. It was a busy one with sending off Elder Anderson and crew and then the rest of the week we were here in the office doing........ NUMBERS. I never thought that I would be doing that on my mission. Hey, I will just "lift where I stand" though and do it with all my might. We were doing that because on Friday we had mission leader council where all the zone and hermana leaders come to the mission home and they first present their zones and then with Pres. we council over a few things like rules and working with members in the mission. We worked on a report of every zone in the mission that the Zone leaders report on in front of everyone. We also this week had the amazing chance to work with Pres. on the tranfers, which has been a super awesome experience for me of learning. I was amazed at how so much work, with the help and guidance of the Lord, can turn out so good. I thought that in some cases with some transfers one would feel a bit doubtful, but to walk in and on the wall see all the tranfers done in the office of Pres. and begin to council with Pres., I can honestly say that I knew that was where those missionaries needed to be. The Lord knows what he is doing and he works through Pres. Rappleye to do it, and I just feel blessed to see how it works and know that it is so true.

Well fam, that is about all I can think of this week. Oh yeah big news, haha, in the mission leader council together with Pres. and all the zone leaders they modified the rule of writing and now we are allowed to email other people as well as our families as long as it is to edify and support them. So that was pretty cool. I invite everyone to read the talk "Lift where you stand" by Elder Uchtdorf. I feel that every single missionary and future one needs to read it and apply it. I love it. I have learned that the Lord never looks at the positions that we hold, but how we serve him. He looks for the noble servant not the serving noble. Pres. Utchdorf told us to cease to aspire to callings or asignments and cease to retire from them as well. I sure love the Gospel. I am so grateful for the chance to be here and serve the Lord. I feel that my deepest desire is truly to edifiy his Kingdom and I hope he feels that he can rely of me to do it. I love you all.

Love,

It was a crazy one and we didn´t find a time to sit down and write. I hope that you all forgive me ha. I am glad to hear that all is well. Those pics from Mexico are so cool. They made Elder Balbuena really happy and maybe a little trunky since he only has about 2 weeks more until he goes home. I will be really sad to see this next group of Elders leave because first off my comp is heading out and he is so awesome, but also my buddy, Elder Anderson, who I know I will see right after, but it will be hard to not have him here in the mission with me. I love that guy and I sure hope that our friendship continues after the mission as well. I am so grateful to have him in the same mission as me because I was always hearing about how awesome he was doing and it always pushed me to try to be better. I would venture to say that Elder Anderson is one of the hardest working missionaries in this whole mission. I love him. As well, my two comps Elder Hoyjberg and Stanley are heading home along with a lot of other good friends. It's going to be hard to see them go. I got to see Elder Anderson last night there in Valdivia. I will tell you why I was there later.

Well Fam, it's always good to hear from you and to know that all is well. Mother, in this email you asked a lot of questions that are quite hard to answer, ha. I am not sure if I can do it, but I will try my hardest. First with one, my release date is....................... ohhhhhhhhhhh it hurts and I can´t believe it, but its the 9th of October. I still got a solid 2 months to work hard. The second question is a lot harder. What am I going to do after the mission about school??? That one I don´t think I have a sure answer yet. I am leaning towards the plan of going to UVU for one semester then transfering to BYU. I believe that I want to go to BYU. If my sweet parents could please look in to whether I can apply now for BYU or if I should wait till I get home. As well, I think it would be good to look into UVU. I don´t think that I need to reapply, or do I? I really don´t want to go there for very long. Maybe as well it would be good to look into whether I can reapply for the scholarship that I had it was a one year one, but I don´t know if I can reapply for it or not. I forgot all about that stuff. If you could help me that would be great and this week I will try to decide. Tell Rick I won´t be leaving far away, I just couldn´t.

Well, it was another fun week full of all kinds of activities. The most of it was Zone conferences, which were awesome. I love zone conference and it was even better this time because I got to go to all of them. So I got to learn even more than I usually do. As well as get to know all the many Elders that are here in the mission. On Tuesday we were in Valdivia, on Thursday we were here in Osorno and on Friday we were in Puerto Montt. We were all over the place, haha, and within all those conferences there was a lot of taking Elders here and dropping others off there. It was a crazy whirlwind this last week. One night we stayed in the house of Elder Anderson and I enjoyed being with him for a little bit. My sleeping bag is super awesome and I have been staying super warm. So I will tell you why I didn´t get a chance to write you yesterday. It was because we had an emergency transfer and we had to take an Elder to Valdivia. It was actually to be with the comp of Elder Anderson, since he is going home next week his comp was going to need a new comp. So we drove the Elder up there. Well, while we were there the Zone leaders called us with a few questions and we ended up meeting up with them at an activity that happened to be in my old church when I was in Calle Calle. So we went and spoke with the ZLs and afterwards the Elders told us we should go in the church and stay awhile for a stake activity they were doing. We didn´t have much time but we went in and it was a talent show, but we didn´t go into where all the people were until my old Mamita, who was the host in the talent show, saw me through the window in the door then grabbed the microphone and announced in front of everyone that there was a special guest and she called me in, haha! I was a little embarresed but I walked in and was able to say hi to many great friends from my old ward. So to make a story short, we got home really late here to Osorno and there was no time to write, please forgive me.

Well fam, I am sorry that this email was so bad. I kinda threw it together really fast. I just want you all to know that I love you. I love this work, I hope that in the time that I have left I can give it all to the Lord. I hope that for whatever reason I am where I am that I can do what he had planned for me. I have so many desires to help the people around me all I can. Day and day again my weaknesses stop me from doing so and I hope that the Lord can help me out and have mercy on me and help me to do his will. I love you all.
Love,
Elder Brown

1. Some of the boys from my group in the zone conference
2. 3 of my comps all together haha
3. Some of the Osorno zone after playing basketball

Rick,

Don´t worry Rick I approve but hey man don´t go to fast. Don´t forget to wait for me as well. It sounds like quite a few people are blown away with all that has happened in these last few weeks haha I hope that all is well my good friend. I love you so much. I tell you that I approve but that you have to wait for me and that you have to go slow and see if things go well or not but just go slow and see how things go. I sure love you man thanks for always remembering to update me.
Love,
Elder Brown

Jenna,

Thanks so much for writing me. But hey why so short I am waiting an email a lot better then that haha. I sent a letter awhile back and I can´t believe that you didn´t get it. That bums me out it was a good letter haha it took me a long time to write because there is like no time haha. Hey keep writing me and I will get a letter written but for now its just going to be short clips like this haha. Thanks for your support and prayers. Keep writing. Oh and P days are saturdays now so if you want me to read it it has to be there before saturday haha sorry.

Love,
Elder Brown

WOW!!! I don't think I have been more tired in my whole life. It's crazy, I will tell you more why a little bit later. Well, it was so good to hear from everyone in the family this week. That was sure awesome to see one little update from each one of you. I thank you all so much for remembering me and taking the time to drop me a few lines and pics. I am glad to hear that everyone is busy and doing well. Sounds like you were able to all do some fun things this last week. I sure love every single one of you. AS well as my buddies Rick and Jordan, who take the time to write me even though I am sure they have better things to do. Thanks guys, I appreciate it and I love both all so much. Thanks for your great examples and support.

That's so cool that Dad is in Mexico. It sounds like from Elder Balbuena that his house is only like an hour and a half from where Dad is right now. E Balbuena was pretty excited to see the Pics of Mexico. Thanks Mom, for sending me a package, we'll see how long it takes to get here. Caiden, I am glad to hear from you bud. Thanks for writing me as well. Thanks Britt, and of course Lacee, for taking the time to throw in a little something.

Well, I guess I will go into all that happened this last week. It was crazy. So, Mondays are always crazy here in the office because it's the rest of the missions p day, so they are all always calling to ask to do things and all kinds of stuff. That same day we received the calender of Pres. for the rest of July and August and we are supposed to organize our calendar according to his. We realized it was going to be a really busy cambio, and if we wanted to be able to go on divisions with all the ZLs we would need to leave this week to start, because the next few weeks after we weren't going to have much time. So Monday night we were on the drive for Puerto Montt. We stayed the night there in Puerto Montt and the next day we went to the District meeting there and then headed to Chiloe for divisions with the ZLs there, who happened to be E. Gardner (from my group in the MTC) and E. Virhuez. It was a great time there in Chiloe, which is an awesome place, you will have to look it up on Google. It's a big island that is in our mission; it's really pretty. We then on Wednesday headed back to Puerto Montt, where we did divisions with the ZLs in Puerto Montt east, which went really well. I got to be with my comp from the MTC, E. Cowley, so that was really cool to work with him and to see how much we have grown in the last few months. Then the next day we crossed to Puerto Montt West to do divisions with the other ZLs, those also went very well. By this time I was pretty much toast haha. The next day we headed to Puerto Varas, where we did our last divisions yesterday, ha, which were also really cool, because one of the ZLs was my buddy E. Rytting from Timp, so that was cool. Woo, then we got back this morning at about 11, bringing sandwiches to enjoy with the office Elders. Now here I am as tired as can be writing, my wonderful family. So much happened this last week that it is a little hard to explain in detail the many different things that happened. One of my favorite parts about this past week though was when E. Balbuena and I could do a "trainer and new Elders" training where we got all the missionaries in the zones where we were together and with their new comps we talked about the training program and how important it is. I sure loved doing that and looking into the eyes of all those new missionaries and just try my very best, though a pretty lame attempt, at trying to explain to them how much the mission means to me. I tried to express how the adventure that they have just begun has changed my life forever. I can't imagine not having come out here. I tried my very best to testify to them of this work and how wonderful it truly is. I hope that with the time that I have to serve the Lord all day every day will not be a waste to Him, but that I can do much good of my own free will and bring about much righteousness. There is nothing that I desire more than to learn all I can, teach all I can and to everyone I can, and try to show God that he can trust me with his errands.

Well fam, I don't know what else I can tell, besides once again bare my short testimony to you all because it seems that now that might be all I know how to do but I am for sure fine with that. I know that God blesses his children, he gives them all that they need to progress. Whether it be trials, responsibilities, missions, or any other thing, he knows what he does, and it is for our good. He surrounds us with blessing. I feel that one of the greatest blessings he has given me is since I was young I have always been surrouned by greatness. I think God does that with those he knows are going to struggle to even be good. He blessed me with the best parents, he then gave me great sisters and a brother, he blessed me with friends that always lift me up and don't let me slack, then I came out here on the mission and he did not stop to do the same, he put me in a group with 3 other guys in the MTC that were coming to this mission that from the beginning pushed me to become better. He gave me an amazing president and his wife. Every single companion that I have had has lifted me up in some way. My companion right now, E Balbuena, is the best! There could not be a better missionary than him. I feel humbled to be with him. Every week he continues to do this as I have been able to get to know more missionaries and learn from there amazing examples of faith, hope, love, diligence and much more. I feel so blessed. I love you family and friends so much.

Love,
Elder Brown

Doxey-cotton,

I sure love you man. Don´t worry man, I am sporting you from down here. I will be there to give you advice some up coming day haha. Don´t let anyone else take my place by your side as we play old school smash and talk out and council over the situations of life. I will be there haha. I love you man. Keep going strong. I wish I had time to write you all my advice in your situation but I am out of time. I love you man.
Love,
Elder Brown

Jord,
Help Rick out man haha. Ilove you man. That's too bad that Eliza is heading out to New York. But don´t worry, you got to wait for me before you go off dating a bunch of chicks and doing all that fun stuff, so it will all be good. Hold down everyone while you wait for me, don´t let anyone go off and get married haha. I love you man. Good luck in your Job.
Love,
Elder Brown

Hola Familia y Amigos,

Wow!!! Is all I can say as well Mother about this last week. It was full of many really cool expiriences, and as well as a lot of different emotions. I am glad to hear that all is going well and that the family continues to enjoy the summer vacations, well at least Caiden, haha. I am not sure how Lacee is doing because, of course, I have not heard from her for quite awhile, haha stinker, but I know she is busy. That's way cool that Brent is now home. I am so glad that Bridger remembers me and shows interest in the fact that some day I will come home.

Alright, first for a few answers to some questions. Dad, you are exactly right about the sleeping bag, and yes, I will be able to bring it home because I will leave some big stuff like sheets and towels here when I come home, so that will free up plenty of space for a sleeping bag. I am thinking about buying a better one so I am not sure how much I am going to spend. I am sure I still won't spend too much on one as long as it can be stuffed up real small. Mother, I will now try to answer all your questions. I hope that I don't miss anything. First off, we do not live in the mission home. We live in an apartment building, where we live on the 4th floor. All 4 elders from the office live on the 1st floor, and the Goodmen's, a senior couple, live on the third floor, haha. It is a building full of mormons! Mother, I don't think I explained real well that Elder Larsen was only with us till Wednesday. He actually is not here, he went to train a new elder in the sector where he started his mission. It's just me and Elder Balbuena. Yes, I had a chance to say bye to everyone in Punta Arenas, because I went to church there on Sunday and left right after for the airport. So, I got to say bye to everyone there in church, all at once, haha. It is cold in Osorno, but not too bad, it's not as bad as in Punta Arenas. I had no feeling what so ever that I was going to come here to Osorno, haha, it was a suprise. I actually don't think Iwill need any new shirts because I just found a couple when we were cleaning out a little missionary closet thing we have in the basement of our apartment building and they are perfect for me and they are really nice, so I think I will be just fine shirt wise. One thing I do request is some more Nerds, because, remember my good friend Elder Moreno, who loves them? He happens to be here in the office as secretary of the mission, so I would like to be able to give him some more because his face when he sees Nerds is a crack up haha.

OK, now for a little bit about this last week that was so crazy. So, Monday we talked with all the zone leaders and saw how the zones were doing. It was really cool to be able to talk to all them and get to know them a little better and see how they are all super awesome and amazing missionaries. I don't know very many of them because being down in Punta Arenas is like being in another mission. It's so far away that you don't hear from anyone except those who are down there. Tuesday we got to go pick up the new missionaries that got here. There was 20 of them, 12 sisters and 8 elders. It was so cool to be there with Elder Larsen and look back and remember that over a year and a half ago that was us getting off the plane. Ha, it was pretty fun to get to know the new elders. We brought them back to the mission home with Pres. Rappleye, Elder Goodmen and Elder Erickson (yep I got to see the Ericksons and it was so awesome to see them for a couple days while they were down here helping with transfers). We then gave a little welcome presentation to the new Elders where we talked about our mission and how awesome and pretty it is as well and share with them a couple of the rules of the mission and stuff like that. We got to enjoy a great dinner with all the newbies and the three pairs of senior couples in our mission, including Pres. and Hermana Rappleye. Then Wednesday was the craziest of all days. We gave a training to all the new trainers that came to pick up their new elders. Then we had a lunch with all the newbies and their trainers, then it was a hustle to get all them to their buses and get all the elders out to their new sectors since Wednesday was official transfers over all the mission. Then came the hardest but most spiritual part. We had the program for those missionaries who were leaving the mission, including my beloved comp Elder Walker. We had an amazing dinner with all of them that were leaving, the senior couples and Pres. and his wife. We then had a devotional where we watched their slideshow with pics from their missions. We then had a devotional where all the missionaries shared their testimonies. It was so powerful. Then the senior couples all gave their advice to those that were leaving. That was so powerful as well. Then Pres. and his wife said some words. We then were supposed to sing the hymn of the mission wich is called "fe en cada paso" or in english "faith in every footstep". Oohhhh, I could not handle it. I could not sing a single verse of that song I was so choked up. The spirit was so strong, I love that song so much. We then headed to the bus stop to drop all the Elders off so they could head to Santiago. It was so hard to see them go. There were so many members there to say bye to Elders. I happened to see some converts from Rahue there, as well as my first Mamita of the mission. It was so awesome to see them. There were a lot of tears shed in that Bus station. The next day Elder Balbuena and I were invited to go with the Ericksons and Goodmens to do a devotional on missionary work for the one and only stake of Rahue, or in other words, the stake where I started my mission. It was amazing to see members and converts of where I started my mission. We were able to bare testimony of mission work and answer the youth's questions. It was so much fun. Wow, then the rest of the week was full of all kinds of work. Ha, the week went so fast.

Well family, I want all of you to know how much I love the Lord's work. I know that this is his work. I know that he leads it and with his servants he brings it about. I hope to be one of these servants. I hope he can trust in me and send me on his errands. I hope he feels he can rely on me to follow his spirit. I hope that through out my whole life I can be a servant that he can always send on his errands. I love this Gospel and I know that it is true I love you all. I will atach as many pics as possible because today we went on a trip with the Goodmens to some pretty places.
Love,
Elder Brown
I am not sure that I can believe it. It has been a whirlwind of all sorts of feelings and many other things, such a whirlwind that has carried me all the way to Osorno, no joke here, I am found back in Osorno, but this time it will be a little longer than a few days. Ha, I will leave it at that for a bit while I answer to your emails, questions and other things haha.

I am glad to hear that all are well and are found safe and sound. That's awesome that Britt had a good time there in Nashville and is back home. I was super happy to hear from Wade and hear about what's going on in his work and things. Sounds like he is busy as ever and is working hard. Sounds like Caiden is as busy as ever with all his activities and is enjoying his summer. I was super happy to hear that you were able to go to the homecoming of Elder Skousen and to see some of the crew. That is so crazy that Ryan Draper is getting married so fast, that is so so so weird ha. I just can't imagine my friends getting married. It makes me happy that I might make it home to see Brandon get married, that would make me so happy to at least be able to go to his reception. Mother and Brit, I really can't think of anything I really need. I need garments, but that can wait a few more months, it's not worth it ha. Mother, it's better that you don't ask about my shirts, haha, they are doing great, except for a few worn out parts here and there. We are all good in that sense. I am really not sure what I need. I am going to have to take out some money in the next few days because sadly I will probably have to buy a sleeping bag to use for these next three months... I will explain later. I really just can't think of anything real specific, what ever comes to your creative minds. I know you will come up with something real good.

All right, I think I should probably explain to you what has happened in the last few days and why I just happen to be here in Osorno again. I will start from the beginning. So, I am not sure if you know but transfers happen to be coming this Wednesday. So obviously, we were waiting a call, maybe Saturday or Sunday night. Well, FRIDAY, in the morning we were in the store buying a frame for one of our converts when the phone began to ring. I pulled it out and happened to see the name of President Rappleye. I answered and we talked for a little then he asked me if the Elders had told me about my flight. I said no. President said ¨Oh... well your coming in here to Osorno to be one of my assistants¨! I wasn't sure what to say, so I said ¨Really?¨ Pres. said Yep. Haha, I said "Ok" and Pres. said "see you soon" and the call ended. I wasn't really sure what to think or to say. So, to make a long story short, I was told Friday that I was coming to Osorno to the office and Sunday afternoon I was on my way here haha. It was like ripping off a band-aid really fast, leaving Punta Arenas and all the great members and converts that I got to know. It was hard, but really fast and really, since I left, I haven't had a chance to think about it or really to think at all, haha, so sorry if this email is a little sporatic. I got to Puerto Montt on Sunday at 5 and my two comps were waiting for me, Elder Larsen (from the group I came with) and Elder Balbuena, two of the best missionaries I have ever known. They made me drive the car back to Osorno and it was really weird to drive again. It had been so long and as soon as we got there we were right to work and we haven't stopped since. This morning we had a meeting with Pres. and all day today I have been talking to the zone leaders verifying all the great work that they are doing. It's been crazy! I still don't know what to think. Now, here I am writing my dear family from the office of the mission.

Man, I am just full of thoughts and I really just can't express them right now, but there is one thing that I would love to express to you all. It is that I love the Lord's work with all my heart. I know it is His work, for I have seen His hand in it many times. I have learned so much from being but a small part of such work and when I catch a view of the big picture I realize how very small and weak I really am. There is still so much for me to learn, and once again, my greatest desire truly is that I can do the Lord's work in His way and not get in His way. There is no greater cause. I will go forth and try to be worthy of the Spirit and always follow Him. I hope I will not lose a chance to do some good in any way possible. I love you family. I love you so much. Thanks for all that you have each taught me and all the prayers you offer for me. I sure do need them. This week is going to be crazy, with transfers and all the new missionaries showing up. I am excited to take new opportunties and challenges so I can continue to grow and learn. Love you all.
Love,
Elder Brown

Dox the Fox,

I sure love you my good friend. I am not sure if my councils are any better than anyone else's and I sure hope we can have many more moments of counciling between the two. There is no better man the Rick Doxey to talk out the good and bad times with of a good time at the gym. I will be sure to try the best to answer all questions you have when I return. I love you man. Thanks for your support, keep me updated on all the news like that girl haha.
Love,
Elder Brown

Jord,

Man am I glad to hear from you. I love you so much man, and I thank you for the great example you have always been for me, especially of how to live up every moment. I sure hope I can do so in the next few months of my mission. I sure do love it out here and I will be applying all that I can of your advice. I sure am thankful that you took the time to give it to me and remember your good old friend out here in Chile. I love you man. Keep me updated.
Love,
Elder Brown

Wow, what a week. I don't know if I have ever been so tired in my life like I was this last week. It went by so fast I cannot believe it. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was writing all you back home. This week was crazy, full of buses, planes and the Spirit haha. As well as seeing many old friends and people that I love. Well, I am so glad to hear that Caiden had a great time there at EFY. There is nothing better than EFY. I hope that I can hear a little bit more about it when he tells you about it for family night. That's so cool that Britt is out there in Nashville, that's way cool. Britt, I met an Elder while I was in Osorno that went to AF and graduated last year and he said he knew who you were haha. I thought that was kinda cool that my sister is pretty much famous haha.

Alright, now for a little update on the week. So Monday and Tuesday we did all we could because the rest of the week was pretty much going to be toast haha. Wednesday we got everything ready and the Bishop took us out to the Airport at about 4 in the afternoon. We got to Puerto Montt at like 9 at night and Elder Anderson and Ulmer were there waiting for us. It was so good to see and talk to Elder Anderson, he is an awesome Elder and I am so glad that the two of us being from the same stake got called to the same mission. Then Thursday morning we headed up to Osorno in a bus. Dad, I am not sure why we don't fly into Osorno. I think it has to do with the fact that the Osorno Airport is really bad and I think that it is under construction. We got to Osorno at about 12 and the AP's came and got us: Elder Larsen, from my group, and Elder Balbuena from Mexico. They are so cool, I love them so much. They had a bunch of stuff to do so they dropped us off at the office where we just sat around and helped the Elders from the office. At about 5 when we had like nothing else to do I got permision from President Rappleye to go over to my old sector in Rahue, my first sector, where I was able to see some converts that got baptized while I was there. You would not believe what news I heard. I don't know if you remember an investigator that got baptized like in the first few months in my mission that had a wife that was a member, inactive, and they had a 5 year old son that had died a few months before we had found them in a car crash. Well I went and knocked their door on Thursday where the wife answered and told me some news that I will never forget. They were sealed in June as a family!!!!! WOW, I was so happy. Not only that, but the man that was baptized is now a member of the high council and is working hard to keep the work moving foward, but wait I am not done ha. As a result of their sealing the family of the wife were all reactivated and have callings in the church. Her best friend and nephews are listening to missionaries and will hopefully be baptized soon. Then the man that was baptized when he went to the temple and his mother found out that she couldn't go in it caused her some curiousity and she is now taking the lessons from the missionaries as well!!! I could not believe all this news. I was so darn happy to hear that. I am so glad to be here on a mission and to be able to see what the Gospel can do in the lives of people. People can and will change if we just see them as they can become and try our best to help them. When we first knocked the door of this family the very words that she said to us were "I don't want anything to do with you". Now just a little bit more than a year later they are sealed in the Temple and many are being blessed and change by their example. What a life the mission is!!! After seeing a few more converts there in my old sector we went back to the office to find all the Elders still working on stuff, so in the end we were not able to to divisions with the APs. Friday morning we headed to the mission home where we ate breakfast and there were a lot of great reunions where I was able to see and hear from a lot of great elders that I hadn´t seen forever. Then we had all the meetings where pres. talked to all of us about the focus of our mission and what we could do better. Then Friday night we took the long trip home and got to our house at about 1 in the morning. It was a great week full of some great experiences.

One other thing that I would like to tell you is the father of the family that was baptized a few months ago received the Higher priesthood on Sunday, and to think that 3 months ago he had no idea that the priesthood even existed - what a blessing!!!! Man I love this work and I know it is true because I have never felt such a feeling of fullness within me than I have here in the mission. I love you all and thank you for all you do.
Love,
Elder Brown

Dox the Fox,

Of course I am getting your emails. Thank you so much man for taking the time to write to me and to send me such awesome pics. I love you man so much. It means a lot to me that you take the time to inform me on how everything is going and as well to give me some tips on how to be better. I sure hope that I can apply them and become better and finish off strong inviting all to come to Christ and be baptized. That fish was huge and I am glad to hear that your muscles and basketball skills are intact and on the up hill. I hope I can do the same. My favorite scripture is " He who loses his muscles for my cause will gain them" oh wait, I think I made that up but still I have faith on it haha. Don´t go doing anything cool till I get home alright haha. I miss you a ton and tell all the guys to write me and give me tips and tell them that I love them and miss them too. Keep updating me please. I love ya man. Thanks for always pushing me to be better from spotting me in my lifts to writing me tips on how to be a better servant of the Lord it means a lot.
Love,
Elder BrownWade Petersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06467118903898062968noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1575071509418244209.post-16030608127337785612013-07-01T09:28:00.000-07:002013-07-01T09:28:17.550-07:00July 1, 2013Wow, I cannot tell you all how much I love you. I could not be more blessed to have such an amazing family and friends. I love you all so much. I really just can't seem to express that in any other way than just saying it. It seems that nothing can really get it across in the way I would like to, but I find that to be a frequent problem now days with the many feelings that I feel and experiences that I have. They just become hard to explain and help others to understand just what I feel. I feel like Ammon, once again, in Alma 26:16 when he says, "Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel." I think that just pretty much hits it on the head; what I feel about my family, the Gospel, the mission, my friends and just about everything else that the Lord has blessed me with. I am glad to hear that all is well and that you are all seeming to pass the summer away having fun and enjoying it. I am so happy that Caiden is going to EFY. I sure do love that program. Elder Stanley and I always listen to the EFY melody and just love it.

Well Mother, as of right now I can't think of any specific gift things that you can send me. I think that anything would be fine; the Chileans aren't too picky haha. I was so glad to hear that you are still hearing from and seeing my buddies that are home now. Keep in contact with them and make sure they don't get into any trouble until I get home haha. I sure love all those guys and I am so glad for their great example. I would ask one favor of my sweet fam. If you see or talk to any of my buds who are home from the mission I would love to hear some of their ideas and things they used to be more effective as a missionary. I want to keep working hard and try to help as many as I possibly can come unto Christ before I end and I would love to hear from all my boys on what they did to invite more people to come unto him and be baptized. Tell them to email me their good ideas.

Well, this week was another crazy fast one. We have just been running around doing all kinds of little errands lately. We run around doing stuff for visas of the elders, buying things that they need, sending info to Osorno, getting packages for the elders and just all sorts of stuff. We also moved some of the Hermanas from their old house to come live with the Hermanas that just came to our ward. Another thing we have been trying to solve is that awhile back we bought an oven for the Hermanas. Here in Punta Arenas they use natural Gas for everything and ovens don't come prepared for that, so you buy them and then the store sends a guy to change the gas pipe so you can use it down here. Problem is that the store never sent that guy to come change it and it's been a month. So, patiently as possible, Elder Stanley and I have gone back to that store to.. with love... ask them to please help us out. They always help us out there, but the guy still has not shown up, so we have been working with that for the past week. I've got some crazy news. Elder Stanley and I are going on a little excursion to Osorno haha! Wednesday we are getting on a plane to go to Osorno for a council with all the leaders of the mission, and then we are coming back Friday haha. So we will be there in the mission home for the 4th of July ha. There we will go to this council and we will go on divisions with the AP's. I am excited to return to the place where I was born haha. It will be a cool experience. This past week a whole fam of less actives returned to church after we gave them an assignment to bring the bread for the sacrament. So that was way cool to see. Other than that I think that's about all that I can tell you.

Thank you fam for all that you do for me. I hope all goes well for Caiden at EFY and Britt in the heart of country music, haha, I am a little jealous. Parents, I hope you can get a little get away to Saint George so you can rest up a bit and enjoy a little time together. I want you all to know how much I love this Gospel. I know that it is that very Gospel that Jesus Christ came and taught to his children in ancient times and I feel so grateful to be out here following the Lord's commission to go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. There is no greater cause, I know it. I thank my fore fathers for accepting this gospel and living it for generations so that I could be born in such a wonderful family of faithful members. Thank you parents and grandparents for being faithful to your covenants so that I could to make them and come down to the end of the world to try to help a few to do the same. I love you all. I love this work.
Love,
Elder Brown

1. A little bit wet haha
It's going by faster every week. Ok, first things first, I would like to say a few words for my ole friend poopy... May he rest in peace. Poopy had a wonderful life full of energy and excitement. Our meeting was interesting and peculiar, but made our friendship all the better. We hit it off from the start when someone door bell ditched us and I opened the door to see a little bag with my good friend in it with a note on it that said "This is Poopy, treat him well". We sure did treat him well. I remember walking into the kitchen and turning on the lights and seeing poopy get all excited and swim all around his tank. He was a faithful and fierce friend. I will miss the little guy, but I feel great that he made it so far in his life. He had been through a lot, like the one time that he almost fell down the drain and I caught him by the tail and saved the little guy. Well, goodbye poopy. We're still a family! Hahaha

Well fam, it was good to hear from you all and it sounds that all is going well, that you are just partying away the summer haha. It sure feels like the opposite of summer down here. We had some more snow this last week, but by today everything has melted up. I will attach a pic. Sounds like everything is as busy as can be. Caiden sure has a packed summer! He is just all over the place livin' it up. I can't believe he will be heading to EFY, oh how I love it.

Well, this last week was good. We continue to search for those who will receive us and be baptized. Good thing we were able to see the transmission that they showed last night. THAT was amazing!!! I loved it and it is exactly what we need to learn and apply here in Chile. It's going to take a lot of work, but I know that if we can get the members to start helping us out more I know that the work here in Punta Arenas will explode. I loved every last part of that meeting yesterday. Elder Stanley and I were just soaking every last bit of it up. Ok mother, about my sweet Mamita, she is wonderful. She is a convert of about 4 years and is the wife of the bishop. The sad thing is that she works during the week so we don't eat with her. She gives us the keys to her house and she leaves the food prepared. We just go over there and eat it. Except for Saturdays, then we eat with almost the whole fam. The sisters are doing great in our sector and are teaching a lot.

This past week we had interviews with Pres. Rappleye and it was a great time. I got to talk a lot with Sisiter Rappleye as well, as we made sure that all the elders got to their interviews on time. Sounds like after their mission they might be heading to Saint George because they have a house there that they have never lived in. Also, as we sat there chatting with Sister Rappleye, Sister Erickson called her and she passed me the phone so I could talk to the Ericksons. It was great to hear from them. I sure loved it. They told me about everything that is happening there in Pangui, and it made me so happy to hear that a man that got active while I was there was given the higher Priesthood, as well two people we were teaching while I was there were baptized and one was given the priesthood. I was so happy after that call. Me and Pres. had a good talk about the zone and what we need to do better. I sure love that man and his wife. They have taught me so much.

Other than that I have no other news, except that a great High Priest that we have been teaching that was inactive finally came back to church with his fam. He is a great man, Hermano Burgos, and finally he came back. He is a funny guy and loves to "echar la talla" or joke around. He likes to make fun of me, haha, but I love the guy.

Other than that I have no other news. All is well in Zion here in Punta Arenas, the truth will continue to move forth and I pray to be able to be a part of it and that the Lord knows that I will always be willing to run any errand he wants me to. I sure hope that my weaknesses will never hold me back from doing so. I love you fam and I hope all continues well.
Love,
Elder Brown

1.
Well, first things first: Happy Fathers Day yesterday Dad. Man, do I love you. I will always remember the amazing memories that I have with you of camping, hunting, and many other great moments. I am so thankful for the example that you have always been to me. An example of humility and love that I will always remember and that one day I hope I can obtain. I thank you for all those lessons you would teach me after arguing with my sweet Mother. I remember always being sent to my room after getting mad at my Mom because I was stubborn and every time I remember sitting in my room and after about 15 minutes I would hear my Dad's big footsteps come down the stairs and Dad would enter my room, sit down next to me and teach me things that, as I look back, have changed me forever. In those little lectures with love Dad taught me eternal principles that I will never forget. One being that you never fight with your mom because she is always right (that's an eternal truth I will never forget) and many more. One that Dad taught me many times is that other people or outside influences do not affect us. People don't make us mad, we choose to be mad. This is a principle that has changed my life and my mission for sure. Here in the mission there are outside influences that are always trying to make us get frustrated, disanimated, or lazy, but the outside influence is never in the end the thing that affects us. We choose whether we get frustrated, we choose if we get disanimated, we choose if we get lazy. Outside influences do not choose for us. We will always have our agency. So why not choose good. Why not just choose to be happy, to say come what may and love it. I know that if we choose well how we react to outside influences it will make all the difference in the amount of success we have in life. Thanks Dad for teaching me such an important principle. It has changed my life. I love you Pops.

It's so great to hear from all of you and I am sure glad that my long lost sis Lacee wrote me. It's been so long since I have seen you sis. I am so excited to just give you a big hug when I see you. It has been 3 years pretty much!! Way too long to not see you sis. Well, I am glad to hear that all the celebrations went well with Blake's B-day and Fathers day. It sounds like everything is going great up there. Sounds like an awesome super activity that they had. Missionary work is the best and preparing for it is just as good. I am so glad to hear that Lacee is loving her job and that all is going well. I sure love my FAM!!! I can't believe that everyone is getting married up!! Cousins, friends and pretty much anyone else you can think of haha. You need to tell them to wait for me so I can be there haha. That's so cool that Brady and Andie are getting married. She is way awesome!! Brady has done well haha. I am sure that Brandon has done just as well, but I don't know her so I can't say haha.

Alright now, for a little bit on what is happening down here. It is getting really cold!!! There is snow on the ground. I will have to send a pic next week of the snow. I feel like it's Christmas but there it is summer ha. So crazy huh? It is really getting cold but we stay warm because we put on a lot of clothes. We are working hard and trying our very best to find new people to teach. We have not found a whole ton yet, but we are going to continue working hard and doing our best and I know the Lord will do the rest. Everything here in the zone is settled down and we are just putting the shoulder to the wheel. The recent converts here are doing great. I sure love the fam of Gustavo, they are trying so hard to share the Gospel with others now. Gustavo told us a story about how his boss was having a hard time with her family and stuff and he started to talk to her about it and she was so suprised that he was "MORMON" that she was like interrogating him haha. He got so excited to share what has come to bless his life so much that he pretty much just spit out all that he has learned in the past 2 months in like a half hour and she was just blown away with info haha. He is so awesome, I sure do love them.

Well fam I better go. I love you all so much and I know with all my heart that this is the Lord's work. We are members of His church. He lives and guides it by prophets. We have the great privilege to know this wonderful truth and I want to help others to come to know it as well. How great a work in which we are engaged. There is no better. I love you all.
PS Mom, you need to ask Jord and Rick what they are up to and tell them to write me and update me on what's going on. I love those guys.
I sure love you guys and thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for me all the days of your life. I also want to tell little Blake man that I love him and happy birthday. He is so big now, I cannot believe it. WOW, my friends are all home now!! It's crazy, they are just the gang again, just all going to receptions together. Ha, I love those guys so much. They are all so awesome. I would not be who I am today if it wasn't for all those guys. You guys have to make sure to tell them to not forget about me and that they all need to wait for me before they start getting girlfriends haha. I will continue faithful in the work of the Lord though. There is nothing better than this time right now, and it's not much, so I need to do all I can right now. I made a goal at the beginning of my mission that I was going to go hard to the end so that when I finish I can say "I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith". I know that if I do so, the feeling will be a lot better knowing that I put everything out there. I would much rather go down swinging than go down watching, haha, good old baseball term.

This week was a crazy one with all the transfers. Sending Elders here and there, doing divisions with elders and recieving an almost all new zone of all new guys. Of 13 sectors here in the Punta Arenas zone, 9 of them are in training of new missionaries! You can say that we are a young zone. We are very excited to have all these new guys, because it brings a new and renewed feeling of faith and excitement for the work. We are going to try to feed off of those new guys' excitement to get the whole zone moving and getting great things done and seeing miracles here in Punta Arenas. I know that we as a zone can do things that we never thought that we could do. If we can just have faith in the Lord and in his promises and we show that faith with our great works, I know that the Lord with provide and bless us. We will be part in helping the Gospel roll forth until it has gone to all the stretches of the earth and sounded in every ear. There is no greater blessing than participating in this great work.

Mother, if you do end up sending another package I would not know what to tell you to put in it. I need new tennis shoes because mine are literally destroyed, but I don't use them that much any way, so I believe that they can wait. Maybe some good old sweets, haha, and I wouldn't know what else to say ha.

It sounds like Caiden's summer is already off to a great start. I was sure glad to hear from you bud. I want to let you know that my current record for juggling a soccer ball is now 38 and going up, so I would be a little scared if I were you haha. I love you bud and you better know it that when I get home we will be hitting two different kinds of gyms... the physical gym and the spiritual one where we are going to get you big musclely and spiritually haha. I love you bud.

That job that Wade got sounds pretty awesome. I would like to see what he does. It sounds like the Peterson fam is doing good and that the two little boys are as cute and as funny as always haha. I sure do love that little fam.

I haven't heard from my sis Lacee for awhile. Tell her that even with all her work she better drop me a couple lines about how she is doing and if she is finding an eternal companion yet, haha, I love you sis.

Well fam, there isn't much to tell you about except that at this moment in the work we are working hard in finding new investigators, because when we divided the sector with the Hermanas they got the part with all our investigators and we were left with little to nothing, but this is the Lord's work and I know that He provides for those that help themselves and that is exactly what we are trying to do now. I love this work with all my heart. It will continue nobly and boldly till it fills the whole earth. What a blessing to be part of such a great work. I love you all.

Love,
Elder BrownWade Petersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06467118903898062968noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1575071509418244209.post-37048468670483984872013-06-04T22:20:00.000-07:002013-06-04T22:20:12.575-07:00June 3, 2013Hola Familia y Amigos,

Here we are again sittin' down to write the fam. It has been an interesting week. I am so jealous about the Stake conference that you had with L. Tom Perry. I wish I could have been there for that haha. It's really funny that Caleb spoke with L. Tom Perry because I always used to say that Caleb smiled like Elder Perry. I would always say to him "Give us the Perry smile" haha. Sounds like Caiden's got a big summer coming up. That's pretty cool. Doesn't sound like he is going to get any work in, haha. I am always glad to hear from my wonderful family. I love you all so much. I just want to tell my two wonderful parents thanks for raising us in the Gospel. It has changed my life and without it I am sure I would be a real scrub. Thanks for teaching me what you have.

Mother, about the mission thing for Caiden. I don't think that there is any better decision than to just get out on the mission as soon as possible. Obviously he needs to be prepared, but I think he would regret it if he didn't just go right out. Plus, he is not too bad looking and so I am sure the girls are always following him around and so it's best that he just gets out there as soon as possible, haha, I'm not as handsome, so it wasn't as big of a worry. The best thing that Caiden can do right now is learn to listen and discern the Spirit. He is the teacher, He will not only teach the investigators for him, but will teach Caiden everything that a job would, or a year of college would and much much more. Help Caiden feel the Spirit and learn His importance, teach him to follow the Spirit and I promise you that he will be prepared for the mission. All else he will learn in the mission. I have thought a lot about how I would and will prepare children for missions, and I have thought about what I would say and teach and when it all comes down to it, If one can learn and understand the importance of the Spirit everything else will come into place. Obviously, that never will overcome the need to study scriptures, learn the Gospel, learn good work ethics, and obtain Christlike attributes, but if the Spirit comes first He will teach us all else that we need to know and be. That's what I would say to you mother and to my little bro Caiden. THE SPIRIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. Learn how He works, learn to listen for Him, learn to invite Him, learn to recognize how He speaks with you personaly and all will be well. There is my piece. I am sure my wise Mom and Dad already knew that because the things they have taught me have made me into the person I am. Because of them I am here, thanks to them I know what I know, thanks to them I am who I am.

Well, now for a little on the week. Monday we were going to watch 17 miracles as a zone but the TV didn't work, so we didn't get to. I am not sure if I told you all, but Hermana missionaries are coming to be in our ward. We are going to be splitting our area and giving them half of it. So this whole week was full of getting their apartment ready and buying ALL NEW STUFF FOR THEM. They are going to be so spoiled, the stuff we have got them is so nice. Their apartment is amazing. I don't think I have ever spent more money in a week in my whole life haha. The mission deposited money in my mission card to buy all the stuff. Gustavo came out with us to look for good prices on all the stuff like mattresses, bunk bed, oven, mircrowave, and fridge. We bought so much stuff. A lot of our week was working on that stuff, but we ended the week great with the baptism of Jose. What an amazing day. He is so awesome and I have been able to see so much progress in him. He has even learned how to read since the missionaries got to his house. It was a great weekend.

Oh yeah, it is tranfers this Wednesday and me and Elder Stanley are going for the long run, haha, another transfer. We are going to stay together, which is awesome. We have a fun time together. We are excited because almost half our zone is going to be new missionaries who are starting their missions this Wednesday, so we are really excited to start them off good.

I am blown away at the fact that my two best buds are getting home from their missions this week. I love those guys so much. Please let them know how much I love them and tell them to wait for me haha.

Love,
Elder Brown

Jenna,
I am still working on your letter haha sorry it takes me a long time to write them. I hope your grandma is doing alright. Keep updating me on how she is doing and on what is going on up there in Utah.
Love,
Elder Brown

1. Well, at this rate the time just keeps speeding up and never will slow down. I am very sad to say it though haha. I sure do love to hear from you all and I am so glad to hear that all the partying went well. The only thing that makes me sad is that my bro, the crystal glass, is giving up the best sport in the world!! But hey, if he doesn't want me to come pound him down on the football field when I get home I guess I can do it on the soccer and basketball fields and courts haha. I guess that's enough. Good luck Caiden with the tryouts and all the camps. What I really can't wait for bro, is when you finish those trainings and camps and can come out and get the ¨LIFE training¨ that one gets when you go on a mission. There could not be a better training for what is to come and it has changed my life forever. I love this work and I can't wait until you can be out here doing the same and feeling the same.

Well, for a little bit about this week. We had zone capacitation where Elder Stanley and I presented a few changes that they made in the way that we give and receive the key indicator numbers of the mission. We are changing and are going to begin doing all on the internet. We then had a council with the zone where we talked about how we want to do more councils, and not sermons, where everyone can participate and give their great ideas. It was a good meeting and I feel that we all left edified. We had intercambios (exchanges) with Elder Thomas and Elder Piñel. It was a little wierd for me because I went with Elder Thomas at the start of his mission and that was now over a year ago. I couldn't believe it. Elder Thomas is awesome though, and we had a great day. He is a hick from Arizona and we get along great. The best part about the week was Saturday. At about 5:20 we were walking towards one of the main streets to take a taxi so we could go interview a little girl for baptism, and as we were walking down a street we decided, almost unconciously, to knock the last door on the street. It was all rainy and cold outside and a guy of about 27 years came out and, without saying anything to him, he let us in and offered us something hot to drink. We said no nicely and began to talk with him. His name is Hans and he has never had a religion and has never been baptized and has really never been interested, but a few months earlier he bagan to study the bible to try to find the truth. We didn't have much time to teach him since we had to be at the interview at 6, so we explained the restoration a little and left him with a pamphlet and set to come back on Sunday. We did so and wow, has he been prepared or what! He had read all that we had given him and he wanted to know if it was true. We shared the Book of Mormon with him and testified that if he read and prayed he would come to know it was true. We invited him to follow that answer and to be baptized. He accepted. We testified with all our hearts to him that the Lord knew him and wanted to give him more information and more truth. He agreed that we had been sent there for a reason. It was amazing and I know with all my heart that the Lord prepares his children. He knows every single one of them and wants to bless those with an open heart with more truth. I am thanful to be just a small part of that huge purpose.

I love this work and I love all of you.

Love,
Elder Brown

1. I can´t believe how fast the time continues to blow by. Here I am at the end of the world preaching the Gospel and the time just seems to pick me up and carry me. I try not to let opportunities of time pass me by as it runs past. I try very hard to run with it. It's good to hear about all the partying that you are all doing. I need to take some time right now to congratulate my wonderful sister and tell her happy birthday. I sure do love you sis. You are a great example to me of someone who always trys to live the Gospel to the fullest and I hope that in the future (far future) I find a wife that is like you. I love you sis, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! That is so cool about the upset that Caid had in the state tourney. That's way awesome, way to go bud. I will blow some crazy goals past you when I get home haha.

Well fam, it was another great week here at the end of the world. We had zone conference on Tuesday and yes, President brought me down my package. Elder Stanley and I actually have been enjoying them this morning as we write our fams. Thank you mother, you sure are wonderful. The zone conference was awesome. Elder Stanley and I did a 45 min presentation about planning and practicing to teach and, like always, I had to refer to sports to get my point across. I am starting to realize how much I do that haha. The conference was awesome and, like always, I learned a ton and I am trying my very hardest to apply it in the work. One of my favorite things that I learned from the conference is that what we search for in our life is what we will get. For example, in missionary work, if we just search to do contacts in the street that's what we will get, is some contacts that don´t lead us to anything. But, if we search to find people who will be baptized and receive us and we do it by using contacting, that is exactly what we will find. It is the same in our lives. What we search for in our lives is what we will find, for the Lord always grants us according to our desires, whether they be unto eternal life or eternal death. I really loved this and I hope my desires can always be the right ones. Then, later this week on Saturday we had the baptism of the two little Guerrero girls. This family was inactive for over 7 years and we were able to help them to get activated and the Dad was able to baptize his two daughters. They have big plans to be able to get to the Temple and we are so excited for them. I will put a pic on. Over all this week was a great one.

I sure do love the mission and I hope that all of you know that I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the work. I have no doubt that this is the work of the Lord because I have seen him and his hand do things that there is no way that I could do. I feel so grateful to be able to carry his name on my chest at all times and represent him to the far reaches of world ( Punta Arenas sector Patagonia haha) I love to be a missionary and it is a short amount of time that we have to have the authority to stop people in the street and share this message with everyone, let alone invite all to come unto Christ by being baptized. What a CALLING, it is the best.

Well fam, I love you all. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts.
Love,
Elder Brown

1. I sure do love you all. I am so pumped now to just go get some work done, to work as hard as I possibly can with the time that I have left. The time is going by way too fast and so I am determined to go out everyday and do as much as I possibly can to do what the Lord wants. I sure do love this work and I know that the Lord's hand is in it. I sure love you fam, thanks for all your support and love. I can feel it even though we are so so so far away. I was looking at the globe the other day and I actually realized how far I am from home haha. It is so far ha. I sure do love it though.

Well, I am not sure what I should tell you because I pretty much told you all everything yesterday. Ha, I will take advantage to tell mother happy birthday on Thursday because next time I write obviously it will be past. I sure do love you MOM. You are one amazing lady. As well as my Dad who is one amazing man. Pretty much my hero since I have been little. I can't believe how big those boys are!!! They are so cute I love them so much. I just want to give them a big huge squeeze. Everyone looked great though some were sick. My mother and two sisters are so pretty. Dad looks healthy as a horse, haha, and Caiden looks skinny as ever, haha bro I love you.

Well, for a little bit about the week. I forgot to tell you that this Saturday we had a baptismal interview for our investigator named Fransisca. She is only 9 and will be baptized with her little sister who is 8. We have been helping their parents get activated and now their Dad is going to baptize them this week on Saturday, so we are pretty excited. Tomorrow we have Zone conference, so we are pretty excited about that as well. Pres.Rappleye is coming down to give it so it will be pretty awesome.

One really cool experience that we had this week: Last Sunday one of the members came up and told us about an experience that she had as she was walking to church. A man stopped her and asked her for help (he was a little drunk). She asked him what she could do and he told her he wanted to stop drinking. She told them that she had two gringo friends that could maybe help, so she got his info and gave it to us at church. Then, this week as we were walking down the street one day, we decided to contact this one guy. He stopped, and a little drunk, told us his name was Jose and we asked him if his last name was Riveras, because the hermana who gave us the reference told me that was his name, and sure enough, we contacted the same reference we had received a few days before. God really wanted to help this guy ha. So we set an appointment and went over and taught him how the Gospel can help him be clean of addictions and sins. He accepted to be baptized in June. That was a pretty cool experience that we had this week.

Well I am not sure what else to tell you so I guess I will just wait till next week to tell you more all about the wonderful life of the mission ha. I sure do love you all. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. Oh, and thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Brown, for all that you have done for me through out my life and as well as right now in the mission. I love you!!!!
Love,
Elder Brown

I feel so bad that everyone writes me emails and I can't write them back. You need to let them all know that I am thinking about them and that I would love to write them, but I can't.
So just send this email to them so that they all know that I love them and I want to talk to them but that I cannot write them here in email but that I am thinking about them and am praying for them.

Wow fam, I was so happy to see all those pics of the fam just partying it up in my favorite place in the world, or in other words Grandpa's world haha. Everyone just looks so awesome. My fam is the best fam that there could ever be. I am so thankful for you guys. You are all amazing. Even though my little bro might be a fragile hipster, if you know what i mean, and maybe the fourth Jonas Brother, hahaha. I love you broski and I can't wait to beat you up again. I can't believe that my sis graduated from college! Everyone is so big. Everyone looks so much older and bigger. And I just continue to lose hair and get skinnier ha. No worries, I might be losing hair but the things I am gaining are so much better, plus the scriptures talk about how not a single one of my hairs will be lost in the resurrection, thank you Alma the younger. I just want everyone to know how much I love them and how thankful I am for you. Before I forget, I will be calling the 12th between the hours of 2 and 5 but I will verify with you before hand. It will be by skype, so I can tell my sweet mother how awesome she is and how much I love her. Even though sometimes in her emails she writes trunky things like the thought of being in my sealing in the Temple holding hands, haha, I love you Mama.

OK, so now to try to express the amazing feelings of love and gratitude that I have for the Lord and his great work. I will not be able to give it justice with my words, because we all know how bad Elder Brown is with speaking and expressing himself haha. I will try my best though. This was another one of the greatest weeks of my mission. THE FAMILY LIRA LOPEZ WAS BAPTIZED SATURDAY! It was one amazing experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life and truly changed me for good. The spirit that was felt in the service was so strong. I had the amazing opportunity to baptize Gustavo and Joaquin and Elder Stanley baptized Sofia while Hna Wendy, since a member, watched in the front row. One thing I will try to express to you is the feeling that I had after I pulled Gustavo out of the water and he gave me a big huge hug and I looked up while hugging him to see his sweet wife with tears in her eyes and her soaking wet daughter and son next to her. I could not hold it in. What an amazing experience, something that will be burned deep into my heart forever. I know that that family will make it to the temple. My patriarchal blessing promises me that I will find many eternal friends within my mission and I know for sure that they are 4 of them. I love them so much, and as much as the Gospel has changed them, they have changed me.

Wow, that was the best part of the week. I know that there was a lot of other great stuff, but because of that wonderful experience I can't recall anything else right now. The ward has done an amazing job with integrating the family and I am so thankful for their great help. One other great moment in this week was a lesson we had with Marisol and her boyfriend Mauricio. Marisol is pretty much a member, she just wants to be baptized so bad, but she lives with her boyfriend and she wanted him to accept the Gospel also, but in the beginning he told us that he would die catholic. Well, I am telling you now that last night the spirit entered into that mans heart and taught him all that we could not. He began to explain the need he had to be baptized and Marisol began to cry because she was so happy. They both accepted to be baptized on the 1 of June. The spirit touches yet again another family. I am so grateful to be able to see these miracles happen by the hand of the lord and the spirit. It is so amazing.

Well fam I sure do love you all. I can't really remember anything else that I need to tell you. I love you all. Keep moving forward.
Love
Elder Brown

Hermana Kenzie haha,
I am just so used to calling you Kenzie that I can't really stop and change it ha. That is so awesome that you get to be there in Guatemala. It is such a blessing to be able to go to another nation to learn the language. I know exactly how you feel to go to a place and not understand pretty much anything. In Peru all my teachers spoke nothing but spanish, same thing with my comp. Remember the promise that you were given when set apart. You have the gift of tongues, it is convenient for the Lord that you learn spanish, that's why he sent you there. You will learn it because that is what the Lord wants. Put all your effort in to listen, speak and read the language. I promise you with all my heart ( because I have lived it) that it will come with time. You will look back and ask yourself how could I not understand. The Lord helps those that help themselves, try your very hardest and he will bless you. With patience keep going you will not regret it. Don't ever give up, this experience will change your life. Yo se que el Señor te ayudará el esta conciente de ti. Te quiero mucho amiga.
Elder Brown

Elder Stewart,
I love you man so much. Keep working hard in till the end and then wait for me to get home before you boys start doing anything cool. Haha I don´t want to miss out on anything ha I love you man thanks for all you have taught me in my life.
Te quiero,
Elder Brown
Vamos hablar en puro español en la casa ¡¡ Que BAKAN!!

Les quiero mucho y estoy contento al escuchar que todo esta bien y les va bien con todo.

I sure do love you guys and I love to hear from you and hear about all that is happening there in O town. I cannot believe that Caiden went on a date. That is so weird to me. He is still just a little guy to me. Who is the girl that he went with? What's her name? I love Caiden's tux, haha, very classy. That is so funny. I am glad to hear that Dad is feeling good enough to do all that work in the front yard. I am glad that Mom is doing good as well, that she is just working hard. I hope that you get some rest though my sweet mother ha. I didn't hear from Brit but I am sure that they are all right and I am sure the boys are just as cute as ever.

Well, another amazing week has come and gone. I cannot believe it. Now for a little info on my comp, Elder Stanley. He is from Phoenix, Arizona and a red head. He is super funny and he has one transfer more than me in the mission. This is his first time as zone leader, so together we are learning more and more. We get along great. He likes motocross and was way into riding dirt bikes before the mission. So that is a little bit about my comp. Everything is going great. I can't remember if there was any other questions, sorry haha.

Alright, here is a little bit about the week.... THE FAMILY OF GUSTAVO IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS NEXT WEEK!!!! They had their interviews this last Saturday and they all passed. So Gustavo, Joaquín, and Sofia will be baptized this next Saturday. I am so excited. Their Mom, Wendy, is a member and we found her registros in the north and they sent them to us this last week. I love them so much. I can't wait to see them all baptized. I know that they will all make it to the temple and I am so excited for them. This next month of May is going to be so awesome. I can just feel it. I am really excited to work with Elder Stanley. We are going to work our little bottoms off, haha, and we are going to seek for the Lord's help in all we do.

It was a pretty crazy week this last week with cambios and everything. We were sending elders off doing changes with the Elders so that they weren't alone, calling taxis and getting new missionaries. It's been crazy and mixed with other little problems like missionaries houses, suitcases and all kinds of stuff, but I am glad to say that we are doing great. I love this work with all my heart!! It is going so well here in Punta Arenas. The people are amazing and there are a lot of people that are progressing towards baptism. We are just loving it here. There are hard times in the mission, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It is the best thing in the whole wide world to be able to dedicate all your time and thoughts to the work of the Lord. It's been bothering me though a little bit, thinking about what I am going to do afterwards school wise. I am not sure if I will have to do some stuff for that while out here on the mission. ( Elder Neilson's talk about working on all that stuff before the mission got here a little late for me, haha). I don't really want to think about it, but I am not sure if I will need to do something for it while I'm out here.

Well fam, I sure love you all and I am so glad to hear from you. I love you all and I want you all to know that this is the work of the Lord. I have seen His hand in it. I continue to see it almost every day and I know that He is the head of this church, and that it will continue to go forth nobley and boldly, till in has sounded into every ear. He prepares His children to hear this wonderful truth, and if we will yield to the Spirit and let Him teach, He will bring the message unto their hearts, something that we can never do. He is the teacher. I love it so much.
Love,
Elder Brown

ps. I will be calling you all by skype on the 12th of May to celebrate the life of the most wonderful woman that walks the earth, my Mother!! I love you mom. Next week I will tell you at what hour I will call.

1. Gustavo and fam
2. Elder Walker and I
3. Oh Punta Arenas
I love you all and I am so thankful for every single one of you. I have a few comments for each of you. First, I love those pics of the little boys at the lego museum. Blake's face just cracked me up haha. He is just full of great expressions. My sisters are so darn pretty, WOW! That graduation announcment and the pics of Brit and the boys - you both look so pretty. What happened to me? I sure didn't come out good lookin' like them! Those pics of Crystal cup are so awesome! Way to go buddy. I can't believe you are going on a date this next week, that is so crazy. I hope you have the mission on the mind the whole time you are on your date, hahaha. I am such a missionary nerd now. I am glad that Dad could work out his medicine a little better so that you could have your weekends back.

Alrighty, to answer some questions first. I am so sorry I have no pics of penguins, they are actually really far away from us. I don't think I will actually be able to see them before I leave Punta Arenas because during the winter they get even further away. Sad to say Dad, we never go down to see the elders in Porvenir. The poor guys are just stuck out there all by themselves. I am sure that we will be seeing some snow coming here soon, haha it's going to be great!!!!, Yes we will be able to skype yo creo(I think).

Well, now for some news. I am sorry to say that the companionship of Elder Walker and Brown is coming to an end. The spirit has called him another way. This Wednesday he will be heading out to Puerto Varas. I will be staying here with Elder Stanley, a red head. I will tell you a little more about him when I get to know him. I am so sad to see Elder Walker go, but if we didn't have changes we wouldn't be stretched to grow, so we will do what the Lord wants us to do, for he know what's best for his children. Gustavo and family were very sad to hear that. Gustavo even began to cry. It was sad to see, but he will continue to progress and the friendship we have made with them I know will last forever, even after this life and I know that if we all live the gospel all the way to the end we will be together one day. They are amazing. I can't believe how fast this last cambio (transfer) has gone by. I learned so very much with Elder Walker this last cambio, things that will change my life forever. I will never forget this last cambio, it has been one of my very favorites. I look forward to continuing to learn and to see the amazing people here in Punta Arenas keep progressing.

This last week was crazy because on Monday the APs got here to Punta Arenas to stay with us a few days. Some how they talked pres. into letting them come down here because neither of them had been down here and they wanted to go on divisions with us and see how the zone was doing. So, they were here with us Monday until Thursday morning. We had a great time together. We had a zone training on Tuesday that Elder Walker and I did. It was a lot of fun and we got some great practicing in with all the Elders. We love to do practices of teaching with the zone. The best part of the week has to be Sunday though, because 9 investigators.... 9, were there in church this last week. It was so amazing, it was a blessing from the Lord. It had nothing to do with our skills. The Lord is doing his work and once again we sit and are amazed by his great power and mercy toward us weaklings. 9 investigators there in church - it was so awesome. The gospel principles class was totally full haha. The Lira Lopez family (Gustavo and Wendy and fam) are doing so awesome. This past Saturday we had a service project and Gustavo was there helping for about 5 hours. He is so amazing and is a great example to all of us and even more so for the members of the ward. He is one awesome guy. I sure do love him.

I will have to tell all my buds that wrote me hi from this email because we are still not allowed to write other people here in the email, only in this email. SO Jord, Richie and big man Turner, I love you all and I am so glad to hear from you all. I hope all is well. Nothing could be better here in the end of the earth declaring repentance.

Well, fam, I cannot explain the love I feel for all of you and for this work. Really, I know with all of my heart that this is the Lords work. For he is in it and he works his mighty miracles. I have seen them first hand here as I have seen a family of four who had no idea about the Gospel receive it with open arms and immediately begin to live it to the best they can. The Lord blesses us so much. I have learned so much from teaching Gustavo's family. The Lord prepares the hearts of his children to receive his Gospel. I know that if we live the Gospel to the fullest and really love it, it will change our lives forever. This is what I have seen in this family. I love this work and I love the Gospel, there is nothing better in this world. I love you family with all my heart and I hope that all is well.

Love,
Elder Brown

1. Service project - we built that little room in a few hours ha. Gustavo is the one on the far right and the rest are members.
2. The sun is so strong here that it burns your skin. This is us and the APs preparing ourselves with our battle paint (sun screen) and our weapons haha (Book of Mormon) I told you we were nerds.
3. Punta Arenas is the city of rainbows. If there is rain there is always a rainbow.
I feel so full of every good feeling that one can possibly feel that in the end it's not worth trying to explain, I just can't do it. All I can really say is that I love my family and I love missionary work. That is the best I can do, anything else sounds cliche or kinda dumb because I am bad at explaining. I cannot show enough gratitude to the Lord for all that is happening here and for the great family that I have. The Lord has for sure blessed Elder Walker and I so very much. I know that this is his work because some how, with two knuckle heads from Utah, he does great things. Elder Walker and I were talking about this and we decided that we felt as if we were in a football game trying our best and not doing so much and then watching the Lord come in and do his work as we sat on the field and watched him work his mighty miracles. What a blessing to be able to be on the front lines to watch him work. We can for sure see his hand in all that is happening here. Well family, I am so glad to here that all is well. I can not believe that once again the crystal cup has broken. When I get home me and him are going to work together to get some meat on those bones. I am sad to hear that Dad is not feeling so great on the weekends. I hope you can work that out with the Doctor and start feeling better.

Well, I don't remember very many questions that you asked me. Mother, I am not sure if I really need anything. I would like more HLJ things to give to kids. They sure love that. In one of the pictures that I am going to attach you will see that I am using those great necklaces that you sent me. I am actually pretty much out of those. I would like some more of those rings to give out though, that would be cool. Dad, those are the apartments, the green ones with the yellow roofs. We live in the second one that is parallel with Manantailes. That's all the questions I can remember. Oh yeah, if you would like mother you can just send me my friends emails here on the email.

WOW, another amazing week come and gone. We are now starting our last week of this transfer. Can you believe that?! I sure hope that Elder Walker and I stay together one more cambio (transfer) because we have not even been able to reach a little bit of the potential that this place has. The family of Gustavo is doing so amazing. I cannot believe that I have the chance to teach that family. They are so awesome. It is a great blessing to be able to teach them. The whole family is progressing wonderfully, you will hear more about that in the recording that I attaching here. Wendy, the Mom, feels great about going to church now because this last week the members did a wonderful job of making her feel at home and welcoming her. Wow, am I grateful for the wonderful members here in Patagonia. The work is progressing greatly, we have found some great new people and we continue to invite everyone we possibly can to be baptized. Here is a cool story. We went to a lady that we had taught one other time, and as we got there she immediately invited us in. As we sat down she sat down amazed and said "I knew you guys were going to show up because I dreamed that you came to teach me". Wow, that was crazy. We invited her to be baptized in May and she accepted. The Lord works miracles, ha, and once again we sit and watch him do his work as we try to do as much as we can which for God is quite little.

This weekend I had a wonderful unexpected opportunity. There are two little 8 year olds that were baptized in our ward this past weekend that we have been teaching a little to help them be prepared. Well, when Saturday came around we found that the real Dad, who is a non member, didn't want the little girls step dad that is a member to baptize her, so, I was asked to baptize her. So I was able to baptize little Elena and then little Nara was baptized by her Dad. I was also privileged to confirm her and give her the gift of the Holy Ghost. It was a great little opportunity and both of them loved their little necklace with HLJ.

Well fam, I sure do love you all so much. Oh yeah mother, Elder Walker and I one day were talking a little bit about our mothers and some how we started to talk about our mothers help during school and we talked about how every morning you would prepare my breakfast no matter what it was and my lunch every single day since I started school. I have no idea how you learned to serve so much or how to love and have patience but you are the greatest example there is for me in this life of those three principles along with my dear father. I can not give you enough thanks mother for all that you have done for me in my life. When one looks back at all you have done it is ridiculous the amount of service that you have given me and the amazing part is you have done that for not only me, but 3 other kids and more so you have served a lot of my friends. I love you mother so so so much. I will never be able to pay you back and thanks to your selfless service you have created a bond in our family of love that will never be broken, not even death will break it. I know that thanks to the Temple we will be together forever. I am so glad to have that blessing in my life and be able to share it will others here in southern Chile ( Gustavo, Wendy, Jauquin and Sofia).
